LABRE LOG HOMES is a one man operation which has been custom designing and building homes since 1982 and has built over 15 hand-crafted homes for customers across Canada and the United States. Each log home is a labour of love taking approximately one year.

All homes are custom designed based to your personal requirements and specifications. I work personally with each buyer to establish the best possible plan. -- No two homes are alike.

All my homes are hand-crafted with solid round logs in traditional Scandinavian full scribe style with shrink fitted round saddle notches. Pine logs (white or red) are selected for durability and colour. To maintain the colour of the logs, they must be cut in the winter, hand peeled in the spring and the home built within the same year. The life expectancy of your log home is many centuries, with the proper design, sufficient roof overhang and a good foundation (2'-3' above ground). Log homes require minimal maintenance. To keep in good condition, it is suggested the outside be sprayed with a mixture of clear preservatives once every 3 years and the logs inside washed and finished with a protective solution.

My Log Home Package includes:

• Consultation and preparation of custom log home plans
• Cutting and hand peeling of logs
• Hand-crafting of custom log home in Chalk River
• Dismantling and transporting of log home to your site (cost varies with distance)
• Erecting your log home on your foundation
• Installation of buyer's windows and doors in log walls
• Preparation of electrical outlets for electricity in log walls
• Second story log floor joists (optional)
• Log roof system (purlins and ridge pole)

• Each home is enhanced with unique natural amenities, example: wooden deformities from the forest to produce door handles and support posts (optional).

Please note that the completion of the inside of the log house is left to you.
