Station Usage Procedure
1. The cost per session (25 minutes) is $1.00. No consecutive sessions may be booked if other are waiting for the computer which you are reading. There is no charge for users under the age of 17 for word processing use.
2. Printing is available at 25 cents per page, which you will pick up and pay for at the main library desk. Our printer contains black ink ONLY - colour.
3. Personal software is not permitted. If you wisah to purchase a disk, they are available library for $1.00.
4. All emails ( must be 18 or over) must be one through hotmail, yahoo,etc.
5. This workstation will be open and available when a staff person is free to sign you in.
6. The user must sign in at the desk before the session, and provide proof of identity or valid Barry's Bay and library Card.
7. A public access Internet Station user agreement must be read and signed by/for everyone using a public access computer for the first time.
8. User must have basic computer skills and be able to proceed without staff assistance. Training sessions may be booked prior to internet session, For completion during weekend as time permits at $5.00 per 25mintues: however tutorials are free of charge in the summer season.
9. No more than two persons are permitted at a workstation at the one time
10. A session may be booked in advance for a small charge. However, the reservation will be void if the is late for the session (only held for 5 minutes).
11. Saving bookmarks for Internet sites, games, or any other change to computer settings is prohibited.
12. Subscription to newsgroups and the creation of extensive distribution lists are prohibited.
13. No Faxes are to be made through the workstation.
14. Do NOT turn the computer off.
Misuse of the computer, including violation of any of the rules, will result in the loss of privilege. This includes attempting unauthorized access to this/any computer system or damaging or altering software of the network. First (minor) warning results in loss of privilege for 24 hours: second (minor) warning results in the of privilege for 1 month: third warning results in loss for year. ANY serious warning = loss of privilege for life.
