Disclaimer
The Internet is a global entity providing communication and resource sharing, with no control of user content. Therefore, available resources may contain material of a controversial nature. The Library does not monitor information accessed through the Internet. Library patrons use the Internet at their own risk.
There are information resources which are inappropriate to a library setting. Because the Library is a public place, Library staff has the authority to end the Internet session.
As with other Library materials, restriction of a child's access to the Internet is the responsibility of the parent/legal guardian.
Not all sources on the Internet provide accurate, complete or current information. Users need to be good information consumers, questioning the validity or unwitting distribution of these programs.
The computer user should be aware of computer viruses and other destructive computer programs, and take steps to avoid being a victim or unwitting distributor of these programs.
Ultimate responsibility for resolution of problems related to the invasion of the user's privacy or loss of data rests with the user. The Library assumes no liability for loss or damage to the user's data or for damage or injury arising from invasion of the user's privacy.
It is prohibited to use this access for any illegal or criminal purpose.

Without wishing to censor access, the Library staff reserves the right to view/prohibit material that in their judgement is inappropriate for viewing in this public area. This may include materials that you may not find personally offensive.
As a user of the Internet access provided by the Barry's Bay Public Library, I have read and hereby agree to respect the rules and regulations in connection with the Internet workstations as set out in the Library's 'Internet Use Policy' and its 'Public Access Internet Station Usage Procedures' and this 'User Agreement & Consent Form.' I acknowledge that any violation of these rules could terminate my access to the Internet workstation in the Library. I understand that use of the Internet workstation will be allocated in the time slots which may be extended or limited, depending on demand, at the discretion of the Library staff.
